Medicine for the Soul Retreat – France

This retreat will be a complete unplug from the things that can weigh us down and consume us mentally and physically – giving you a peaceful, refreshing space to feel true freedom; where nothing is expected of you! It’s time to give your mind, body and soul space to breath, replenish and rebalance. Nestled in nature, an opportunity to find stillness, let go, discover, share and laugh…

YOGA & MEDITATION

‘Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self’ The Bhagavad Gita

An early morning meditation followed by an energising yoga flow. In the evening a soothing, relaxing yin yoga followed by an evening meditation around an open fire. We’ll also offer yoga/meditation workshops to delve a little deeper into certain postures, meditation techniques, pranayama (breath work), yoga philosophy and teachings. An introduction to rituals will be offered – rituals guide us gracefully out of auto-pilot mode, creating a magical space where something more beautiful can emerge. All activities are optional and are designed for all levels from the seasoned yogi to complete novice.

We encourage a supportive and nurturing community over the 5 days – sharing knowledge and experience, sharing space and giving space, sharing responsibilities (early morning cycle to Boulangerie) and support and compassion for others. Karma yoga – is the path of ‘action’, putting in 100% effort and not being attached to the outcome or fruit of the action.

FOOD

‘One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well’ Virginia Wolf

Ensuring the food is delicious, fresh and veggie based is a priority on this retreat! Emma, our amazing cook will serve a nourishing, wholesome breakfast, lunch and dinner for us every day. Breakfast and dinner will be a social gathering and lunch will be a ‘help yourself’ buffet of delightful local produce including cheeses, organic salads, artisan breads and seasonal fruits.

WHAT ELSE?

‘To walk in nature is to witness a thousand miracles’ Mary Davies

During the day there will be time and space to unwind, chat and reflect …. Alone or with others. Find a quiet space to read, journal, swim or just laze, nod off in the warm sun. Walk and explore the beautiful French countryside or hop on a bicycle and pedal leisurely along miles of ‘velo vert’ routes. Evening talks around the fire. Indulge in a 45 minute body and head massage… bliss!
